Based in the Plumstead area of Greenwich, Bear Hugs Day Nursery Waverley welcomes children from across the capital to provide crucial childcare services.
Our nursery is equipped with facilities and equipment for babies, toddlers and pre-school children with our experienced staff nurturing and educating your child on an individual level to ensure their development is an enjoyable, stimulating experience.
The Care Bears and Happy Bears Rooms cater for children between the ages of 3 to 24 months, with the aim to promote confidence and independence under the watchful eye of our fully qualified staff.
The rooms are set up on low levels so that children can safely reach toys, with a wide range of sensory toys and activities selected to ignite their curiosity and promote learning and development.
Our staff observe every individual child to learn their interests and provide support, with our learning programme ensuring your child’s prime areas are also being developed. Our facilities provide hygienic changing areas, individual cots and sleeping mats and access to outdoor play.
The Bubbly Bears Room is suitable for children aged between 24 months and 36 months. It is divided into several play areas, each designed to stimulate various areas with a lot of free play.
At this stage children are naturally very curious, our educators will support them and build their confidence, critical thinking, and perseverance to be successful in their learning and development.
Our Smiley and Clever Bears Rooms are fully equipped with EYFS inspired activities, to prepare every child for school in all seven areas of learning and development.
Preparing children for a school environment is vital. We follow a daily routine to help them develop social skills, be independent, confident and take responsibility for taking care of themselves. We encourage our children to wash their hands before meals, after using the toilet, and after playing in the garden. They are also taught to tidy up their toys and resources after play.
Independent reading is encouraged in our book corner, stimulating the children’s interest in learning more about the world, different cultures and backgrounds. The Smiley Bears room has direct access to the garden, encouraging free play inside and outside, as well as direct access to child-appropriate toilet cubicles.
